Steele family celebration (Adelaide Wedding Photographer)

This Saturday is going to be a fabulous day. The forecast is 29 degrees in Adelaide. The location is the gorgeous Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The family is energetic and electric. The celebrant is none other than the vibrant Dorinda Hafner. Kate and I are photographing the children of this wonderful families ‘naming ceremony’ followed by the marriage of Matthew and Kelly. Last weekend we went location hunting and found the very stunning Steele’s looking clean, crisp and gorgeous in whites. Enjoy your sneak peek guys. We can’t wait until Saturday!!

Sneak peek {adelaide family photographer}

Wow.

This little girl has come so, so far.

Little Jorja was born a bit over 3 years ago, at 26 weeks gestation. Her wonderful mummy (one of the nicest people I have EVER met) won our “Spreading the (photography) disease” with her photo ‘mummy’s touch’ … seen here.

I photographed Jorja about 10 months ago, and she has changed so much. Such a cheeky little thing with a strong sense of self! A typical 2000’s woman!

I had the opportunity to photograph her with her mum, grandmother and aunt, along with her 6 month old cousin in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens on Thursday .. it was a great shoot …

I just loved the white dresses these two were wearing! …

The sheer magic of bubbles! …

{thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon! … you should be so proud of how far Jorja has come … she is an absolute sweety! … and her cousin is pretty darn cute to-boot!}

This wonderful couple even put up with us wanting to ‘try something different’ … trying explain how this image would work was quite tricky! but thanks for being such great sports … we hope you like it :) ….

And at the beautiful Himeji Gardens on South Terrace …. I just love how she is holding his shirt here … *so sweet* ….

Victorian Bushfire appeal

We watch the news with a empty sense of helplessness at the devastation that has swept through Victoria over the last week. We see the blackenend earth, the car bodies, smouldering gums and the tears. And we feel helpless.

So, in some small way, we would like to offer something to these communities and to the aid organisations who are helping tirelessly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you wish to donate between $200 and $400 to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Fire Appeal via their secure online donations form we will waive our sitting fee, and provide you with print and product credit to the value of your donation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We have 5 spaces available under this offer, so if you would like to donate and receive a professional photoshoot at the same time, please forward your electronic receipt of your donation to info[at]headinthecloudsphotography.com.au and we will organise a time for your session.

Our thoughts are with all those effected by this tragedy.

Kate & Merryn

Sneak Peek {Adelaide Newborn Photographer}

This little guy would have to be one of the most obliging newborns I have EVER photographed! … He was awake when we wanted him to be awake, and asleep when we wanted him to be asleep … he couldn’t have made my life any easier!

His big brother would have to be the cutest little man I have ever met … curly black hair and dark eyes …. And such a relaxed family, in a beautiful home. Enjoy :)

a very special shoot {Adelaide Maternity Photographer}

This was a very special shoot for me.  Our much loved Uncle Gus is expecting his first baby. A little girl is on the way. Uncle Gus is more like a brother to my husband, Jonathon and we love him and his partner Tracey very very much. So I was absolutely honoured to take some shots for them to remember this time….

… a giraffe, a bysen, a python and a beautiful baby boy {Adelaide Portrait Photographer}

This was the most incredible driveway I have ever driven on. The directions were along the lines of ‘…pass the main entrance to Monarto Zoo, turn left down a dirt track, ignore the ‘No Entry’ sign, open the gate that says ‘No Unauthorised Access’…. make sure you close it….. drive past the giraffes and the bysens……’ OMG just getting to the house was an adventure….. and you wont believe how brave I was when I got there!  I held a huge python. I have a big big big fear of snakes so this was a really big deal for me…. can you tell how nervous I am?!

nj0109blog1

and then I met this gorgeous little man ‘L’. Gosh he was cute. He smiled, he laughed, he peed (a lot!) and he had us all singing his favourite song ‘we all know frogs go laa dee daa dee daa’.
