Adelaide Newborn Photographer

.

I am surrounded by babies at the moment – not only in my (amazing) work life but also in my personal life.  It is such a lovely feeling to see so many of my close friends starting (and adding to) their families.  To think ahead and dream of the memories our children will create together and to think back and compare them to the memories we have together from when we were growing up ourselves.  It is just such a special time that I am so grateful to be a part of.

.

Last night I travelled to Yorke Peninsula to a gorgeous property just outside of Port Broughton.  My friend lives there.  She has made the cutest baby.

.

Meet Max.  3 weeks old.  Hannah and Heath are oozing love for this little guy out of every single pore.

Love you guys!

First Glimpse

Port Elliot Mini Sessions

.

Wow!

.

What an amazing response we have had for our latest Mini Sessions – It is a delight to meet new families, especially those who have been waiting patiently for these Mini Sessions for many months now, to see those who have travelled hours just to be at the session, and to meet our newest families on the Fleurieu!

.

We have had many requests for Mini Sessions in specific areas of Adelaide and South Australia.  If you would like to suggest a location for future Mini Sessions drop us an email at info@headinthecloudsphotography.com.au – we LOVE to hear your ideas!

.

Thank you to all who were involved in Sunday’s Mini Sessions at Horseshoe Bay, Port Elliott.  And a very special Thank You for trusting us about the weather.  It was magnificent!  We could not have asked for a better day and it was a fun adventure shooting at a new (and absolutely beautiful) location.

.

Here is what you have been waiting for…. your First Glimpse at your images…..

Mini Sessions are the perfect way to capture your family portraits without the commitment of a full session.  They are an excellent way to keep your portraits updated yearly to capture all of those moments and quirks about your children – memories that fade so quickly.  Why not keep them forever?

Baby Dreaming

This little guy had me at the first cuddle. I could have just wrapped him up and snuggled him all day long.  He was just perfect in every way. I left this home dreaming of having a new baby of my own……

.

.

.

Totally. Simply. Divine.

Can I keep him?

Please?

First Glimpse

Middle Earth in the Adelaide Hills

.

This family is a little bit special to Head in the Clouds.  And especially to me.

.

Angela and Luke have been clients of mine since their eldest daughter was a newborn.  And we were so excited when they won our Head in the Clouds launch competition and we got to photograph them again. So last weekend it was time again for another installment of this little family of four who have captured our hearts and hold a very special place in the Head in the Clouds family.

.

.

.

If I could choose any piece of land to build my dream home on, this would have to be it.  This place is amazing.  You can tell why Angela and Luke fell in love with it.  As you walk along the terraces, creeks and stone stairways you feel like you are on the set of a movie.  It is just incredible.

.

.

.

.

Yes. This is all in their backyard. Magnificent.

First Glimpse

A ‘little’ big brother

.

I met this absolutely gorgeous family through our wedding winners John and Michelle.

.

From the moment I entered this house I felt a calmness that I can not explain.  This family were just so relaxed and happy and…. content.  It was a pure joy to photograph such love in a relaxed home.  I was mesmerised by Mr L who won my heart with his bowling elephants.

.

.

.

Thank you again for a lovely morning filled with giggles and fun.

Sneak Peek

Adelaide Newborn Photographer

.

Wow. We get to do the coolest things with our job. Kate and I often sit down with a cuppa and marvel at all of the places we get to go and people we get to meet. We are SO lucky.

.

Adam and Kelly are one of those ‘Wow’ families. Absolutely stunning as well as beautifully down to earth, kind people.  And look what they created!  A gorgeous gorgeous (did I mention how darn gorgeous she was?!) baby girl. Baby Mya at 6 weeks old.

.

I could have bundled her up and taken her home (they wouldn’t let me).

Pretty darn cute huh?!

.

Don’t forget we have our Winter Mini Sessions approaching VERY quickly and places are filling fast so be quick!

.

Gosh I love my job.

Adelaide newborn Photography in Clarendon – Sneak Peek of Baby Dylan ~

Mark and Tic have waited a very long time for this moment.  And last Monday (in the very wee hours of the morning) their dream came true and they met their little boy Dylan for the very first time.  I photographed Dylan as a bump and I just had a feeling that he was going to be a boy.  I was absolutely delighted to spend all morning in their lovely Clarendon home listening to stories of a beautiful, intimate birth and photographing this little guy who absolutely loves his wombie!

What a beautiful morning I had.  Thank you for sharing his goodness with me.

Sneak Peek {Adelaide Hills Wedding Photographer}

When I arrived home at 11pm Sunday night after two big days of photographing two of the most amazing weddings we have ever seen I flopped down on the couch, muscles aching, overtired and whispered to my husband ‘I LOVE my job!’

Kate and I say this all the time. We are so blessed and so grateful that we get to share all of those special moments in peoples lives – the one’s they want to remember forever. And with our passion, with our photos, we are able to help them do just that.

Sunday’s Wedding at Longview Winery in Macclesfield was just magnificient.  I first met Skye and Dave over a year ago and instantly I knew there was something different about these two.  I still can not pin point what it is exactly.   I’m not sure if it is the way they are so clearly and so passionately in awe of one another.  I’m not sure if it’s the way that Skye does a shy little giggle when Dave looks in her eyes, even after so long.  Or if its the way that their wedding was so personal and reflective of their love, the way that every time they locked eyes during the ceremony they had to look away so they could *just breathe*.  Or the way they both made absolutely beautiful speeches at the reception and they made the speeches to eachother, looking deep into the others heart as they spoke.  It is all of these things. They asked me on the day whether I became ‘de-sensitised’ after seeing so many weddings’ and I had to tell them that it is the complete opposite! That by the time Sunday came around, I felt like they were mine, like they were my friends, my family and like I was there celebrating with them and yes, shedding a tear or two during their ceremony.

Sunday certainly was a very special day.

We began by meeting Skye at the Homestead at Longview Winery where we photographed her preparing for the day….

The image below on the left is a very special one. Sadly, both of Skye’s parents are no longer with us.  Skye put her Mum’s wedding dress on for a few photos (and then changed back into it later for a another special moment for her family).  She looks like an angel.

Then a short walk and a decision to test the Adelaide Hills weather and keep the ceremony OUTSIDE!  (Go KATE!!) …. we arrive at the ceremony….. could they be any more in love?!

After the ceremony A big bus arrived – the bus that Skye was working on the very first time Skye and Dave met……

We then headed off to Strathalbyn Railway Station – one of my favourite locations to shoot at!

We then piled into our little car – Videographer, Kate, myself, Skye and Dave and went to our favourite Cafe – Appleseed Cafe – who kindly stayed open especially for us and treated the bride and groom to a muffin topped with chololate love! (I think Dave liked it!)

We had such a wonderful afternoon. SO much fun. Back at Longview Winery we drove around the vines as the sun went down and captured even more of the love between these two lovely souls….

And I think these last images of the night really sum up Skye and Dave and their love for eachother.  A love which Kate and I were so privileged to photograph….

I would like to leave you with this last image which was my favourite little touch to the whole day – and just seemed to wrap up Skye in one small act – making that extra effort to make sure Dave knows how much he is loved.  I just adore this so so much.

Thank you so much Skye and Dave for choosing us to share your day. It was extraordinary.

xx Merryn

Sneak Peek into a beautiful family in a beautiful town…

I spent last Saturday morning in the lovely winery town of Langhorne Creek.  I have very fond memories of this town as my Auntie and Uncle once owned the General Store and together with my brothers, cousins and their friends we got up to all sorts of mischief (all of which I should really not write about here!).  If you have not been to Langhorne Creek you are crazy.  Get in the car this weekend and go for a drive. Not far from Strathalbyn, where you can stop for a delicious coffee at Appleseed Cafe (make sure you tell Jo we sent you!) you will find Langhorne Creek filled with vineyards, shady parks, a very cool pub and lots of friendly locals (unless football is an ‘away’ game, then the town will be empty!).

I had to giggle to myself when Sue said to me ‘I hope you can find a suitable backdrop around here somewhere’ – It was more a case of deciding between them! It is just such a beautiful beautiful little part of the world.

Then I met Sue’s family – WOW! That is just about all I can say about this totally gorgeous family. WOW WOW WOW.  How much cuteness can be squeezed in to 3 children?! I could have chased them around photographing them all day!

What a morning! I can’t believe you went and played netball afterwards!

Long Live LOLLY DAY!!
